Foundation cost/compound wall
Foundation cost/compound wall
Hi All
My contractor saying the following rate
digging - 6 Rs
foundation stone work - 40 Rs per Sq ft (depth)*total length)
compound wall - 40 rs Per Sq ft (height*total length).
Is this rate prevailing/good one?
Regards
Sam

Re: Foundation cost/compound wall
Get a JCB to get the earthwork done. You can get them for about Rs.750 per hour. (They need atleast 4 hours of work usually).
This works out half the cost of Rs.6 per sq.ft if done manually.

Re: Foundation cost/compound wall
I got my site excavation done by JCB. No complaints whatsoever. It all depends on the experience of the person who is operating this.
The entire excavation for 14 pillars and water sump on a 60x40 plot took about 4 hours. Also I hired a guy to do the finishing for the excavation pits. He took 2 days and I think I paid him around 700-800 bucks. Overall I saved over 50% on the cost and the job done in 2 days.

@mahesh, you will feel better when u know that 8 pillars consumed 90 bags for footing alone.(Excluding pedestal in 30x 40 site)
