I have built 2 houses - one on gnd floor(800 sq ft) and other on first floor (1000 sft) on 30'x40' bda plot in H S R Layout.First floor house is built by positioning brick walls on the existing brick walls of gnd floor. There are only 2 concrete pillars in the front and foundation is on 11 Course.
Now I intend to go for 2nd floor construction (1000 sq ft - 3bed room house).Pl clarify whether the existing structure can take load of one more house if I build similar house of Ist floor on 2nd floor. Is it necessary to go for pillars from basement ?
Thanks

Re: Building on 2nd floor
hi manjunath
In general load bearing structure can be built up to 3 floors,in your case if all the exterior walls are 9" then you can go for 2nd floor.
