I would like to know whether in first floor backdoor steps is mandatory required or not?

sudheer,

my question is .. currently, i have steps access inside the house to go for 1 st floor.

I would like to know whether back side step access is required ?

The law does not need you to have steps provided outside the building. On occasions, you will need to provide roof access to technicians for solar water repair, plumbing etc. If you are not comfortable allowing them roof access through the steps inside the house, you can have an external staircase, else it is not necessary.

hi tvsh,

i have plannned a staircase directly to 2nd floor. SInce it is a big area i would like to know whether we need steps outside for 1st floor access.

Like TVSH mentioned , it is not mandatory to have steps outside for first floor access. however , you may need a steel staircase for any repairs / technicians coming and working on the first floor.
