30x40 West Facing House Plan Review

Post by sampathdechu »

Hi,
I am planning to build a G+2 in a 30x40 west facing plot in north bangalore. Ground floor for 1 BHK and first and second floors are duplex. Can you kindly review the plan and post the feedback?

Ground floor - Kitchen windows should be facing East direction. All toilets should be in North-South direction. Unless you are planning for double bed, the bedroom size looks small.
First floor/Second floor - From my experience, a very comfortable bedroom size is 12x12 which can easily accommodate a wardrobe and a King size bed
If you are conscious of Vastu, this plan may not be feasible.

Hello Mr Sampath your plan looks good and well thought of.However if the location of the toilet of second floor smaller bedroom to abut the toilet of bigger room it would help better in plumbing being simpler and more vaastu compliant as we usually keep the NE corner as light as possible ..just my opinion

Thanks Deepu. I got feedback from others also on that toilet. We changed the entrance of that toilet to be from study room instead of bedroom, to remove it from NE portion of bedroom. If we abut both the toilets, then one of the toilets would be on top of kitchen, which we wanted to avoid (incase any seepages etc. ) so we aligned it with utility entrance door in the first floor.

HI All, I was told that we are not supposed to have double height on the NW corner of the house, so I was told by vaastu expert that we should have skylight or double height only in N or NE portion of the house.

Another feedback I had got was, the setback on NE and NW should be equal, since in the plan I posted, the stairs are occupying NW setback, I was told to move the stairs to make setback equal on both NE and NW side. Can anybody give clarifications on these

Thanks
Sampath
