My house construction is currently under progress and decided to change from flat roof to tapered roof in part of 2nd floor.
My construction quote and agreement was done for flat roof initially.
Around 200sqft of roof area needs to be done in tapered and it comes to 600 sqft when converted to tapered.
Here is the estimate contractor has given.
200 sqft flat roof concrete cost = 200 x 600 = 1,20,000
600 sqft tapered roof cost = 600 x 1050 = 6,30,000
The difference I will have to pay is over 5 lakhs.
For the sake of my preferred elevation, I am ready to pay some premium, but this difference seems to be huge.
Can anyone here help me with standard cost estimate for a 600 sqft tapered roof or even a per sqft standard running rate. (I understand the cost depends on the number of beams and the slope itself. I just need approximate).
Work is happening in Bangalore. I can't change the contractor now, have to negotiate with the current one with all proof points.
