Dear members
for the skylight i was thinking of using Policarbonated sheet but my architect feels it makes lot of noise .. glass is fragile .. is there any other product we can use in lieu ?suggestions solicited

Use toughened glass 10mm or higher, underneath this you can use stained glass, which add a newer dimension of light. Yes PC sheets are a noisy only during rain or if any bird perches on it, but is extremely durable.

Toughened glass is a better option but the one disadvantage is that any small kind of dust sitting on glass is clearly visible and maintaining glass clean everyday in a residence is not easy.The other way is to go for frosted glass and install frosted surface facing downward to avoid dust accumulation on rough surface .
