Construction during rainy season

Post by krishnakumar »

Hi

I am planning to start construction in a few months but I think my construction might start around june-july-august time. Since this is rainy season is it ok to start constructing now. My contractor says it is ok and this will in fact help in better curing etc. But I just want to confirm that what he says is indeed correct and it wont affect construction process.

Thanks

In my opinion, its a good time to start construction, as many people give attention for curing only for the roofing and not for the walls/basements and after the construction completed, they start experience hair line cracks on the walls. Since majority constructions have to happen with the bought out water, people may not give much attention to in early stages to save some bucks. Rains will give natural curing during the construction in addition to manual one. Also you need to take certain precautions.
