Borewell Approval Process

Post by GirishR »

Hi ,
I am planning to drill a borewell and regarding that i downloaded the form and filled in the details and approached the Jayanagar BWSSB office couple of days back. They didn't accept the application because they wanted the original chalan, Tax receipt, Sale deed and a declaration on a 20rs stamp paper. There documents were not mentioned in the application form but they said that these are mandatory.
Today i approached them again with all the documents but now the are asking the borewell agency certificate copy along with other documents. This is ridiculous  , as i have not finalized on the drilling agency. I thought i will finalize after i get the approval.
Please suggest.

Thanks,
Girish

This is an unwanted process introduced to exploit the common man and the service providers to make money in the name of monitoring the no. of Bore wells and the usage/controlling of Ground water .....etc.

On the other hand BWSSB itself is drilling plenty of bore wells and giving free connection(Bypassing the Water meter) to each and every households unlimited water free of cost at Bangalore west region on the instructions of the corporators and MLAs.

Better you meet the chief engineer of your BWSSB Dept with a written request and ask him to give in writing all the necessary documents to be provided for getting the authorization.

It is obvious what their real intention is. But I am just thinking,
since any borewell drilling outfit wants your busines, why not shift
the burden to them ? Ask the borer to prepare all the documentation,
ofcourse with your authorisation.

Hi all, :D

Yesterday ie on 16/02/2013, I was at the BWSSB, Jayanagar to enquire about the permission required for digging bore well. The following is the procedure.
Fill up the application, Form 1A, which can be downloaded from internet or can be had from the BWSSB office. When you down load, take the printout of the first page ie Form-1A only. Click on the following link for application. http://bwssb.org/wp-content/uploads/201 ... -forms.pdf

1.Remit Rs.50- in any Canara Bank branche in favor of K.G.A.BWSSB. The account No. is given in the application form. The counter foil of the challan is to be attached to the application.

2.A notarized undertaking in Rs.20- stamp paper / franked paper. If you go to any typing centres near Sub-Registrar office, Jayanagar 4th block, this can be had in 20 minutes for Rs.150- (The format is readily available at these shops. Getting it done there will save time and energy)

3.Copies of Sale deed, Khatha, and Tax paid receipt.

4.Registration copy of the bore well agency. :? I told that the agency can be fixed only after permission is granted as it involves negotiations and some agencies quote their rate for a week only. Then I was told that this can be waived.

The acknowledgement will be given after 3 days and permission after 15 days. If Kaveri water connection is available permission won’t be granted.

If the application is downloaded from the net and filled up, the copies of documents made ready, amount paid at the Canara bank early in the morning followed by notarizing the undertaking and subsequent submission to BWSSB, one day can be saved.

The following help lines can also be tried. 080-23341652,080-23348848,080-23348849

Can someone point me to a 'borewell' thread (if there's one). I'm starting off on that - looks like there's atleast these stesp

1. Decide borewell needed or not (rest of steps assuming "yes" for this question)
2. Geologist consultation - I see some posts talking about it?
3. Decide borewell vendor, motor type
4. Get BWSSB approval (this one is covered in this thread pretty well, so seems ok)
5. Start & finish the borewell (any preference for time, day..)
6. Maintenance (of motor, of the well...)

Dear pvr - is it necessary for the borewell to fall in the jayanagar zone? OR applications can be submitted in any BWSSB office.

Hi raghurbhat :)

Since my area falls under Jayanagar BWSSB, I went there. I believe you have to go your jurisdictional BWSSB office. I have given a couple of phone numbers of Jayanagar BWSSB office, in my earlier post. It would be better if you call to any of these numbers before you go.

Thanks pvr59ksl - I was in Jayanagar today - in the last one month, applications and approvals for new borewell connections have been centralised to Cauvery Bhavan BWSSB Block - 2nd Floor. I was advised to give a covering letter and get an ack . Documents etc remain the same as mentioned by you earlier.
