Road Cutting : Some doubts

Post by jackalbda »

Hello ,

My contractor asked to go for the road cutting permission with BDA now, as construction is nearing completion. I have cauvery /electricity line on my side of the road and sewerage on the opposite side. I have a couple of questions.

1. For things on my side ( rain water drainage/cauvery ) , do I need to take a permission? If so, is the permission to connect with cauvery water, from BWSSB or BDA ? Right now there is no water pumping started, but heard its coming in another 1-2 months . For box type rain water drainage, I suppose no separate permission is required.

2. For sewerage connection, I need to go for road cutting. Any idea, roughly what will be the official and un-official charges?. Its a BDA ( not handed over to BBMP ) area. My friend told me to do two things while connecting with the BDA sewerage line. One is to make the joint from the top of the BDA line instead of connecting it sideby. Second, it seems there is some type of valve , which blocks the return of the sewerage back to my line. Anyone aware of something like this ?

3. I have BSNL lines laid underground in the area and its on the opposite side of the road. Can I get the BSNL wire laid through the same channel dugged for sewrage line ?.

I am assuming you are putting one more PVC pipe for phone cable. You can do that, ensure you put one more cable as stand by. Since sewerage line is on other side, your eletricity pole will also be on other side, again you can do the same thing as telephone cable. Give bedding for sewerage pipe for better life.
