My colleagues are in search of sites in SMV and BSK6 stage, I have recommended them for SMV based on my personal analysis of connectivity and other factors.
Plz share some of ur opinions

Hello smvdvs,

As we own sites in SMV , definitely we recommend SMV better than BSK6, in my personal view SMV is near to mysore road and kengeri, hope this would speed up the development work, but has lots of private layouts and BSK6 is more beautifuil than SMV.
It depends on the individuals thinking and selection process, I guess rates in BSK are less than SMV but not sure.

I got a reply from BDA officials abt the work development for my E-mail query to commisioner, felt lucky atleast they replied to me.

Below is the E-mail content.

Its a pleasure to congratulate for your request to speedup the work for providing basic amenities in SMV Layout. with respect to your request ,The following information is brought to your kind notice. The BWSSB authorities have taken up the water supply and sanitary work which is under progress, the construction of storage tanks and GLRs are under progress. These will be completed very well in advance than the stipulated time given under tender condition. As soon as the water supply and sanitary work is completed by the BWSSB authorities ,the work of asphalting to the all roads will be taken up. Hopefully you are aware that many allotties have started constructing their houses and sanction of plans for the construction of houses has been started .as per your request necessary action will be taken up to speed up the work.

Hey smvdvs, that's a great initiative on your part, buddy! Sounds like BDA is now serious to complete the work on the tenth anniversary of SMV's formation.

For the early and brave residents of SMV, it sure is a precarious living. Apart from the water, sewage issues, they are are also grappling with security (sometimes no houses within a long radius, hence not secure at night), and connectivity in terms of public transport, telephone, broadband, etc.

I have replied him asking abt the deadlines to complete, but no reply...
let us first have these basic amenities once owners start construction than BMTC will operate buses to SMV and I guess Metro reach 2 -Mysore road may starts by next year end( BMRCL website shows that 70 percentage work is completed for reach 2), so connectivity would not be much problem by that time.

Do u know y people preferr 1st block of smv rather than oher blocks ? and prices here are also are in the range of RS 2400+ ( I guess) same as other blocks ..

I feel the reason for increased prices in First block is dueto the access to ring road , the road which joins to the bus stand still needs to be asphalted, which is clearly visible from the block.Most fo the other blocks have some pockets of land which has some private layouts, landlord ownership etc,
I have a sie in 4 blk whihc i bought for 1800 Rs /sq ft............on jan 28 of 2011, I have started construction and defintiely can say that work in the layout is moving at a fast pace now like water and sewage etc........

Smvdvs, apologies for not noticing your post earlier. I guess jpdent is right as it has good proximity to the ring road, Mysore road, is close to the Nice road , and has no pockets of other colonies within it. I actually didn't choose 1st block, as it was allotted to me.

Jp, is your place of work close to SMV? I am curious to know how long it takes to get to central Blore in peak office timings.

Glad to get to know this forum. I own a site in 6th Block. Anybody in 6th block in this forum? How is that block doing w.r.t the developmental work?? Greatly appreciate a response. Thanx.
