Hi Guys,
The first floor in my house which has terrace above gets really hot. For a new construction, I was thinking of following solutions
1. 4" false ceiling thruout
or
2. 2" pattis and false ceiling with glass wool stuffed in
Which would be better?
Any other suggestions both inside as well as on the terrace? Budget not much of an issue if not exorbitant.

my two cents - Go for reflective paint on terrace. i have tried this and definitely we could feel the difference.
Another option would be cover the terrace with pergola or sheet, sheets make noise when its windy.
I have seen few people laying tiles on terrace. I am not sure how effective is this. Paint on terrace is cost effective solution.

Hi, I have heard some people place red clay bricks on roof and pack the gaps with cement slurry(brick bat coba)...not sure how effective is that

we can also go for Rooftop Solar Power Generation Unit, which covers majority of the terrace area from the harsh sun light and also makes consistent side income for 25 years.
