Bescom connection - 500 sq mt borderline

My construction, as my architect measures is about 490sq mt. But bescom guys measure it as 520sq mt and are asking me for huge _____ or go for a transformer(because it exceeds 500sq mt)

Can someone pls guide me how to go about this? Do they punish border line cases that much?

What's that huge amount ? If it's less than 50k, go for it. Else you need to call electrical contractor for the same and do measurements.
