blrsiteseeker,

I am constructing in dattagalli 3rd stage ( also called as Kanakadasanagar). Your sister can come, see the construction and meet the engineer. He is a very nice person to work with, is old school and has a good work ethic. He takes only a limited number of contracts concurrently, and usually works non-stop on a project. so the construction does not get delayed too much. One caveat is that he charges a premium for his service. I will PM my number to you.

regards,

I am not exactly answering your query. However want to add a note of caution. Civil construction industry has all kinds of people, from uneducated to double graduates. This Industry is not really known for integrity, ethics and transparent business practices. So finding someone whom one can rely upon while being absent at the construction site is like finding a needle in a haystack. Even after paying above market rates, hiring qualified engineer and a person who sounds reasonably honest and fair, and with daily visits, I find there is a gap between what they claim and what actually happens on ground. So what you are planning to do sounds very challenging.

If you are constructing in mysore, please stay away from contractor Devendra Kamath. I had a very bad experience with him. Even I had itemwise rate contract. I did not even negotiate. I paid as per his rate chart. But, the quality was so pathetic. Even a street side masonary would have done better than this contractor. I gave work to this contractor since he was a qualified civil engineer. But, it was a big mistake.
