Hi Everyone,
I am getting a house built in Bangalore on Bannerghatta Road. The RCC Columns have been raised about a month ago, and I have noticed a few cracks in the RCC columns. A few pictures are attached. When I talked to the civil contractor about this, he said this is normal and will be taken care of during plastering. I am not convinced. I solicit your opinion on whether this is a serious issue and can make the structure unstable and if so, how can I correct it now.

Dear Raman,
On going through the snaps, it seems to be a clear case of honeycombing of concrete due to either over vibration or slurry leakage. If it is isolated to a small area, the same can be treated with a grout. However, if it is spread accross, then you should be insisting on your contractor to demolish the column and rebuild. If the structure has already been raised, then the column has to be strengthened by jacketing.
An experience engineer can take a call on this only by physical examination.

Its called honey comb formation.In your case i don't see any thing major issue.This level can be handled by grouting while plastering.
If the same is deep and you see rods then it needs pressure grouting with machine or a skilled mason can do it manually by splashing cement mortar as hard as he can.
These happen if you don't use vibrator properly and leaks in sheet centring .
