Little things we forget while planning

Hi,
Most cases we miss out future requirements and facilities for the same.
1. Wifi access points - initially considered in offices only but now at home its must to get wifi signal in all the rooms.
2. Gail gas is already happening in all the layouts and very soon it will be across bangalore including out skirts. There should be pipe laid and kept ready other wise you end up breaking you parking flooring.
3. Connecting solar to gyser is always good , since gyser will be automatic it will add temperature if needed otherwise it won't waste power . But you will have a drop in the pressure just in case you are opting for concealed diverters
4. Car wash point can be direct bore motor connection so it will give you equivalent pressure as professional car wash machine

# If you are planning for more than two vehicles for parking, think of parallel parking, instead of serial parking. easy to operate and lots of convenience

that's it for the time being.

What is the minimum width and minimum length required for 2 cars and also for 3 cars say Maruthi alto required for parallel parking ?

Hi

Always consider a width of 7 feet and Length of 16 feet for 1 car (Innova) so for Maruti Alto the length could be 12 feet.

So for 2 cars it will be 12 x 14 feet for maruti alto

I don't think 12 feet width is enough for parallel parking. I thought it should be minimum 14 feet wide and 34 feet length so one can park 1 car behind the other. Can experts in this forum, Architects comment on this.

For parking area you just need to leave one tap connection at convenient location as per your floor plan, the tap should be direct line from your borewel motor thats it. Check plumber if he has to draw line via floor if he doesn't wall near by.

In toilets (first floor and above ) instead of sunken slab go for Gypsum board false ceiling below. The maintenance is very easy and does not involve breaking floors.This works well if bathroom comes on top of another bathroom or some open area.

Greywater collection by seprate wsstewater like for washbasins and washing machine point.
You can have a dedicated tank for toilet flush where recycled grey water can be used.
There are simple filters available which can make greywater easily for acceptible quality to flush.

Still you need to cut holes in the slab for floor trap and cut in the beam for passing waste pipes here right?

If planning is done correctly there is no need to cut the beams. In fact beam should never be cut as it weakens the structure.
Hole for the pipes in slab can be laid at the time of casting just like electrical conduits are laid.

All the apartments these days lay pipes using false ceilings instead of sunken slab. Maintenance for blocked pipes and leakage fixing becomes matter of hours and few hundred rupees to plumber, Compared to this in case of sunken slab breaking of tiles and flooring is required and it costs anything around 10 - 20 K Rs and around 2 days of outage at least.
