Re: Latest Wood prices
NKNewflat,
In case you are buying the materials yourself, actually, you will be paying higher than the reasonable market price.
The dealers always quote higher price for individual buyers. But they sell at different prices for the carpenters or
interior service providers as they buy frequently with them. So instead of saving the money, you will end up with
spending more money along with your time and effort.
I suggest better you identify a carpenter or Professional Interior service provider and share your requirement, and
let him take care of the procurement and execution of the entire work.
Still if you want to go for buying yourselves, you get the quote from various material dealers and then contact me,
i will guide you appropriately.

Re: Latest Wood prices
Hi Yagnesh,
Red Sal wood = Rs.1200 -1300/ CFT, I suggest you should go for White Sal as quality wise White sal is good and price is almost same.
Honne Wood = Rs.1800 - 2200/CFT (Good One)
Check out the Timbers near Mysore Road, there are plenty with good quality wood.

Re: Latest Wood prices
Friends, we are planning a 8800 sqft house and the wood requirement is high. Please suggest buying log and cutting it as required is a good option. Or should i stick to the normal cft purchase.
Major purchase will be white/red sal and about 30 % will be teak. Request you to give few good references for this purchase on mysore or kanakapura road. Regards NK

Re: Latest Wood prices
Hi Kumar,
If your major Purchase is White/Red Sal then go with Cut pieces, Timber Yard guys will calculate exact measurement for the Wood.
For eg : If the Door Frame size is 7 x 3 with 5x3 Section then calculation is (7*2 + 3.5*2)*5*3/144 = 2.1875 CFT for that Price will be calculated.
If your Teak wood percentage is 30% then you can look out for Ready made Teakwood Frames from Nikki/Kalpataru, they call it as Benin Teak Frames. They are good and you can consider, but please check in person.
Buying log is costly as they will calculate the wastage as well and cost is high compared to Cut pieces.
Regarding the references, On Mysore Road check at Vishnu or Shiva Timbers. Just walk around Mysore Road near Nayandahalli you will get lot of TImber yards.
