Starting house construction finally
Starting house construction finally
Dear members i have been a member of this useful interactive forum for a while now .Like most of you i have almost come close to achieving my familys dream of our own house. We are soon going to start construction this month.A few suggestions from you would definitely help me .The location of construction is at BSK 5 stage. As far as i have inquired with our neighbors, most have used bore-well although cauvery water is available almost alternate days .I also plan to get borewell made considering that the layout has vacant sites all round. In fact my home will be the first in the entire lane .Most have obtained water at 350 feet .Should i plan to go further down weighing in the possibility of bore wells that may be dug in adjacent plots in future. Also would like to know if I have to get the borewell point marked by a water expert or the borewell guys will select a spot for borewell.Hope you will give me vital suggestions .Thanks
Re: Starting house construction finally
Hi, Best wishes for you to start your house construction.....
Firstly check the need of water... if it is for self use for your family and if cauvery supply is sufficient then don't opt for bore. if you are planning for rented house or if your family size is big then think of planning for borewell.
you will have to first consult person who marks the point for borewell and then drill bore well. Also check if your budget will cover bore cost as well.

Hi,
I also own a plot in BSK 5th stage. i am starting my house construction with kaveri water in next month. initially i had a plan for bore well. but from neighbors came to know that in BSK 5, minimum 1000 feet depth is required for water. so curious to know about water availability at 350 feet. if you are OK you can share your email id/phone so that we can discuss on that.

Hello Naveenkpt thanks a lot for your best wishes !We are a small family of 4members and definitely the kavery water would suffice for our daily needs ..I am concerned about future possibility of water shortage as the bwssb will gradually start providing water to other layouts in adjacent areas.
Re: Starting house construction finally
Hello Mr Rajesh you may email me on deepu_11krishna@yahoo.co.in to discuss in future
Re: Starting house construction finally
then you may have to think of bore well. if your house has space in front of the house and bore truck can be parked to drill bore then you may think of bore in future else drill it now.
Re: Starting house construction finally
There is no way anyone can start construction , because there is inclement climate in entire south India for the entire month of Nov 2015.
Re: Starting house construction finally
If you are worried about Cavery water being shared by BDA, Even the ground water will be shared by your neighbors as they all tap into the same aquifer. So it is better to go with a bigger tank (sump) say one with 10,000 liters that can hold enough water for you even if BDA supplies water once a week, you will be better off than going for a borewell, where you are not sure if you will get water and how long the water would last.
Re: Starting house construction finally
Thank you tvsh for your suggestion! Is there no restrictions for the size of the water sump?as per construction rules
Re: Starting house construction finally
Sump is not part of the sanctioned plan. You can go for any size, but plan it earliest as it needs to fit correctly in your working plan - i.e you need to ensure it fits correctly in your foundation working details. Practically, 6000ltr is the capacity of water tanker (tractor) so you have to ensure that there is space to empty 1 entire load + ~1000-1500lts that will be at the bottom which wont get pumped if you are using submersible pump. Generally speaking, 8000+ltrs is considered good (again if you are considering more than one house this needs more storage). Also if you are going for 10000ltr, consider 2 5000ltr sump - as you can leverage one for drinking water and other for rainwater harvesting etc.
