Stone to Kitchen and Bathroom.

I am looking for some rough finish tiles/granite which is other then Sadarahalli tiles. I some how do not like the white sadarahalli colours.

I looked at sandstone but it is not a great option for kitchen/bathroom because it has high level of water absorption. But the colors are very good.
Kota stone: Is a Lime stone again and shades away quickly and water obsorption level is high.

Or any other granite can be dressed as rough?
