Bamboo sticks instead of Mangalore tiles

At wonderla I saw Bamboo sticks were used instead of Mangalore tiles. How durable is this?

they are pretty durable. The Bamboo sticks are dried and then chemically coated before being used for roofing.
But I am not sure if it can be used for Indoors.

Hi Naggz,

They requirement is for outdoor area. Which comes on the terrace seat area for functions etc. It weighs lesser then tiles and looks better then red tiles.
So, if you know anybody who has done this kind for house pls PM the details.

I have seen this Bamboo roofing structure u talking about in Bamboo Bazaar, Shivaji Nagar. Interesting place. I am sure your doubts will be clear once u visit that place. I have seen a few restaurants who have used Bamboo roofing. But none in residential.
