Post by zulshaffiq »

How to measure the false ceiling for costing purpose ?

For example if i have a room 12 by 10 ft and I want to do Border-like POP Design. How to calculate the measurements?

Hi,
False ceiling is measured in area for all the areas above 1' width .coves / corner patters are measured in running feets with the same price applicable to per sft unless there is lot of labor work involved in it.

Hi Praveen,

Thanking you for the help. Still I have doubts..For example How to measure the false ceiling as design shown in the link.
http://imganuncios.mitula.net/with_park ... 922981.jpg

Do I need to calculate double measurements of above design?

For example.

For 12ft by 10ft room .

Outer Area - (2 ft width ) - 12ft*2 + 12 ft*2 + 10 ft*2 + 10ft*2 = 68ft
Cove Inner Area = 12 ft + 12ft + 10 ft + 10ft = 44 ft

Total Measurement of the design will be = 68 + 44 = 112 ft

Am I Right?

Thanks

Hi Praveen,

Thanks for the reply... For a border design with cove...Assume that room is 10 ft x 12 ft (with 2 ft width)

Outer area will be (10 * 2 * 2) + (12 * 2 * 2) = 84 ft + Inner area (Cove) = 10 + 10 + 12 + 12 = 44

Total Area will be 128 ft

Am i correct?

Thanks
Sheetal
