Plz review - electrical labour charges

Post by pkumar78 »

Hello,
I received attached labour charges for electrical work. Are these rates reasonable ?
I need to finalize electrician soon. Please provide your inputs. Are there any specific things that need to be checked ?

Thanks,
PKumar

Hi PKumar,

Not sure about this coz my electrician is charging me 9000 per cheddra for everything including material, irrespective of how many points i take.

wires will be Finolex and all other accessories will be Anchor Roma of my choice.

pkumar , its better to go by points because u pay for what you are getting done.

Paying in Lumpsum is always beneficial for the contractor. If you dont beleive me calculate all the points and multiply it by cost then you will find whats teh actual cost of work you are getting donwe and how much you are paying as lumpsum.

most of time lumpsum will be in loss unless u are got a lot of things done like Air conditioning , speaker systems , telephone lines etc within the house.

Hi All,

just to add my experience regarding electrical labour charges.

I am paying Rs 15 per sq feet of built up area , irrespective of number of points etc. I felt this way of calcualtion would be good and more cost effective, other than calculating points and sq feet of cables to be laid etc.( if you have very less no of electrical point, maybe this will be beneficial :-) ).

For main meter fixing etc , will be extra and i would be doing it by the BESCOM contractor.

So it always better to for for sq feet area costs i think.

Dear Asif;
I am having G+3. I am expecting 4 meters with total Power 14kW (5+4+2+3 KW).
How much you paid for Earthing, meter box (company?), meter fixing to box, cable charges (from pole to box) and Bescom charges.
