CLARIFICATION......

Post by Pooja »

Hi Friends

I need clarification regarding this issue.

The labour contractor is charging per chadra 27,000 (only labour cost).
He is calculating the same for the stilt parking.

My question is :
Even though the stilt parking does not have walls and no plastering why does he charge still per chadra Rs 27,000.
I would like to know how others are paying.
I am suggesting for 50% (Is this normal)?
Please someone in the forum can give me how they have paid.

ONE MORE QUESTION:
ANY good brand names in Vitrified tiles ? Which location/store to buy from......please share.

Thanks

Pooja,

We paid 70% of the chadra rate for the stilt parking construction. This was around 1.5 years back.

I am also looking for vitrified tiles for bedrooms and went to RAK company showroom near Richmond Circle.

Vitrified tiles come in different sizes -
1. (3.3ftx3.3ft) 1000mmx1000mm - cost is 196/sft without discount. Need to get quote from Authorized distributor for that
2. 2.5ftx2.5ft - cost is around 110/sft
3. 2ftx2ft - cost is between 80-90

I found 2.5ftx2.5ft looks good and price also is reasonable. Two of the white shades they have are currently out of stock and will be available in February.

I am yet to check Hemadri near Silk board junction. My friend suggested this place as it has lot of collection from Kajaria, Rak and few other brands.

I think in labour contract it is common practice to charge same price for the car parking too. The
reason being that car parking area consumes labour for bar bending, centring, plasting apart from the walls.

In fact, you can bargain for areas such as duplex/double height well in stairs etc to be excluded.

Thanks for the clarification. Will talk to contractor.

Girishd: I am also looking for white vitrified tile. Let me know the rates when you finally decide on it.

I like these designs of these tiles:

nu Statuario (white) 800x800 mm
600 x 600 mm

Odc Statuario

Glacier white

Crystal Bianco

I have to yet get the rates of the above. Once I have them will update.

Thanks
Happy Prosperous and New year to everyone.

@Pooja,

Yesterday I went to Maruthi Ceramics Banaswadi and checked out Simpolo brand vitrified tiles. They have 1200x800 big tiles for around 110-130. I have almost decided to get those for bedrooms. In terms of price this is much better than RAK ones.

Please check out these also before making decision.

Just a suggestion. Why not natural stone like Jaisalmer yellow or Kota? they are quite popular these days!!!

I am paying Rs.22000 per chadra while Rs.11000 for car parking, balcony and such areas. This does not include centering & barbending costs.
