Hi All,
For my house, I was hunting for Vitrified Tiles. As I am placed outside the city, there are not much options available and had to go inside the Bangalore city hunting for tiles .
I was astonished to see that for same tile there were different prices in different shops. If it was +/-5 its okay but for same tile (same company, same code) the difference is +/-20. This led me to wonder how can there be such a difference. The floor area I have 1500+ and a difference of 20/- would be huge.
For flooring initially I selected a brand, for a same model I got the rate from 70-90. I inquired at 3 different shops who are so called authorized dealers as per company website. One guy mentioned 90 and said after discount it could be 88/-. Other shop quoted 78/- but ready to give at 75. Then the last guy mentioned 70/- inclusive tax after a lot of bargain.
I wanted to find how can there be such a difference, after googgling, I found a link where it was mentioned that there are two type of tiles one is seconds which is 65 and other one 85. Aahhaa!! found the reason for difference. Then I inquired if it is true with one of the dealer and he said many companies do it....
Then I gave a second thought and went for RAK (http://www.rakindia.com/products/produc ... ASIL_WHITE) the price was more but felt satisfied as there are no such issues and being a international brand there were no quality issues .
For the bathroom tiles I decided to go with colortile (http://www.colortile.in/), there are lot of good designs and starts from 50. Though I saw the same model & design for 75 in another shop. I went with a cheaper one as there is no much difference.
I did not go for Somany and Jhonson as I could not visit their dealer shops. Please share your views on the vitrified tiles experience. The tiles price range as per my knowledge:
Orient bell- 50 -200(lowest is the very basic model and highest is marble finish)
Kajaria - 50 -400
Rak - 70 - 400
Qutone - 70- 200
I got a good deal at a shop on banergatta road, south india ceramics opposite to RPG granite. the dealer was honest and gave a good quote.

Re: Choosing vitrified tiles
Hi,
Thanks for sharing great info. I am also hunting for Floor & bath room tiles. Request kindly share following details.
RAK Floor tiles : Exact model, size of tiles, actual price per tile
Colortile bath room tiles : Exact model, size of tile, Gloss or Matt finish, weather you have brought anti slippery tiles for bath room floor or normal tiles only.
Weather both floor tiles and bath room tiles were brought from the same shop (south india ceramics) or from different shops?
Regards

Re: Choosing vitrified tiles
Hi Prakash,
RAK model: http://www.rakindia.com/products/produc ... ASIL_WHITE size: 1meter x 1 meter. Price: 145/-
Colortile: we have selected different model for different bathroom all in the range from 45-55. Gloss finish for wall and anti skid for the bathroom floor.
I have bought all from same shop and hence got a good discount on the above price.
For common bathroom flooring, I am going to put sadarahali (flamed) for ease of maintenance & its anti skid property. For rest of the bathroom used colortile anti skid tiles.

Re: Choosing vitrified tiles
Hi Harish,
Last week i also visited the same shop.
I liked different design tile (1m x 1m). They told that they have project tiles may have some defects of 0.1 to 0.2% which we cannot makeout.
He told that he will give for 130/-, he also told that he have premium tiles in same model whose MRP is 196 can give for 165/-
And the thickness was 15mm.
Can you tell me the tiles you purchased are premium or others?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Rajendra

Hi Rajendra,
I have bought the project tiles, as he had some stocks . The premium was going out of my budget, hence went for the project. He said he has already supplied 50,000/- Sqft till now and no issues. He assured to replace in case there is any problem.
