POP / Gypsum Work

Dear Members;

I am planning to do ceiling design work in Living and dining area mainly border and central design. I came know gypsum and POP suitable for this work. I would like to know, Is there any difference between these two. Which is good and recommended for ceiling work. what is the present rate of standard design for these work.
