My Borewell drilling experience
My Borewell drilling experience
Dear Friends,
I want to share my borewell drilling experience:
Got the approval for borewell drilling which was almost 3 months from the date of application submission.
Last week I took the help of Geologist to check the water level and point for borewell he informed that we will get water at 900 to 1000 feet he charged 3000 rs.
I was bit confused to go for borewell or not as I am planning to construct house and Cauvery water is also available, finally I decided to go for borewell considering lot of other points.
following is the quote from reputable drilling company:
1.Drilling Charges for 6 1/2” Dia Bore well
Drilling Rate upto 250 Feet Rs 63.00
Above 250 Feet to 350 Feet Rs 73.00 per Feet,
Above 350 Feet to 450 Feet Rs 83.00 per Feet,
Above 450 Feet to 550 Feet Rs 93.00 per Feet,
Above 550 Feet to 650 Feet Rs 113.00 per Feet,
Above 650 Feet to 750 Feet Rs 133.00 per Feet,
Above 750 Feet to 850 Feet Rs 163.00 per Feet,
Above 850 Feet to 950 Feet Rs 193.00
Above 950 feet to1000 Feet Rs 223.00 per Feet,
Above1000to 1100feet Rs 323.00per Feet, Above 1100to 1200 feetRs423..00perFeet Above 1200to 1300feetRs573.00perFeet, Above 1300to 1400feetRs773.00perFeet,Above 1400to1500feetRs973.00perFeet.
2.Casing Pipe Charges (Med) (Heavy)
61/2” M.S casing pipe Erection Charges Rs 350.00 / 400.00 Per Feet
10” P.V.C Casing Pipe Erection Charges Rs 350.00 Per Feet
3.M.S &P.V.C Collar 1 No Rs 100.00 Each Cap 1 No Rs100.00 Each
M.S Casing Pipe Welding charges Rs 200.00 Per Joint
Transport Charges Lumpsum Rs 300.00 Per point
Labour Charges Lumpsum Rs 300.00 Per Point
4.Water Injection Charges Rs 20.00 Per Feet
5.Vehicle Setting & Flushing Charges Rs 3000.00 Per Point
Note: 1.Price is subject to change without prior notice*.
2.Advance Rs. 20,000/- on Booking and Rs. 30.000/- on start of work.
3. Spot settlement on completion of job.
4. We are not responsible for the location of the Borewell point selected by the Geologist, Diviners & Others(Maximum Depth 850ft only).
5. If Boulders, silt, Dry Gap or 2.1/2” yield comes while drilling, work will be stopped and payment should be made for the Done.
The vehicle came to the site 12:30 am today early morning we started with small pooja at 7 am and the drilling started at 9 am, at 180 feet got 0.5" water, operator told at 190 feet to stop the drilling due to loose rock (bodress rock) he told the water motor will have problem if it is installed below the loose rock however I asked him
to drill further I was puzzled about the geologist estimation of 900 to 1000 feet.
After drilling further the loose rock was of 15 feet and we got solid earth further I told them to continue the drilling and found another water source at 400 feet in between solid rock and they went up to 465 feet they told the rock is hard and water pressure is more which is 3" so they had to stop the drilling.
Finally I was very happy with the result.
Total expense came to 75000/- Rs got discount of 1000 Rs , gave Tips of 2000 rs + 2 times coffee with snacks + 1 time cooldrinks
Next thing is to find a solution for the loose rock and motor selection, friends if you have any solution please suggest for the loose rock.
Thanks in advance.

Re: My Borewell drilling experience
I had hit the same situation and got loose rock but they insisted for slitted PVC pipe which would have costed another 80K for 450ft.
Since I had Cauvery connection line, i told them to stop at 450ft and extra slited PVC pipe is not required.
Btw, could not get why 75k for 450Ft?
Venky

Re: My Borewell drilling experience
Today I did camera inspection and found loose soil in two places charges for camera inspection is 2000 rs , I have decided to go for filter casing installation, found water flowing at 120 feet and 400 feet in the camera inspection and at two places caved in due to loose soil . I was happy to see the water flow and it was clear . Once the filter pipe is installed I will mention the cost.
Re: My Borewell drilling experience
Installed filter pipe for 465 feet today total amount is 52000 rs
Re: My Borewell drilling experience
I purchased Texmo submersible pump, 25 stages & 2 hp , 2 years warranty, total pipe length is 430 feet, 52500/- including the transport.

Re: My Borewell drilling experience
Hi All,
I am planning to get the borewell done for my site this week. Just wanted to check if it is really mandatory to take approval from the concerned authorities before digging?
Any details/advice will be of great help.
Thanks in advance.

Re: My Borewell drilling experience
Better take the approval, this is required later when you apply for electricity and water connection .
