Hi,
First choose the type of Support you need from architect.Full support till material selection or only plans and structure. Then you can post a reverse auction on justdial and ask in detail about costs and benefits.
Thanks,

Hi Krishna
Elevations are not just done on plan directly. You need to do certain modifications in the plan to fit in interesting elevations .Also elevations would look interesting when you try to have interesting form for the building .Though there are many limitations in smaller sites like 30x40 it can be made interesting with flexibility in plan.
Various options for elevations
1.Placements of windows makes a lot of difference ,and there is no rule that you should have window starting for 3' ht only .
2.Using cladding in a very interesting locations like around a window / some fluid shapes / defining a floor etc..
3.Using greenery walls like creepers grown on a specially made MS structures is a very cool thing .If feel the very traditional way to growing a jasmine creepers in front of a house almost perishing .We can use the landscape concepts very efficiently to make the building elevation interesting

Hi Krishna,

My experience says that first you should try to look for what kind of elevation that you/family likes. You can do it by seeing some negibbours, friends, web etc. and make an album of it. Then ask yourself or architect that how can that be achieved with less expenditure?

Trick 1: Many buildings are built with out cladding and natural elevations to reduce cost. I came to know that cladding was done only on east side to protect from sun light but now it has become a fashion.

Trick 2: Many things if designed well advance you can reduce elevation cost.

Trick 3: Think of Deepavali, your column exposed outside can make magical things if you provide little steps/support on the column.

Trick 4: Elders bathroom, stair case design for elders and kids etc.

If you don't have time, first start running a questionnaire/suggestion list on requirement within your family and then speak to architect, you may be surprised when you interact. AN architect who thinks of home for u and family will definitely ask about family ( Not where they work and finance) their age and so on.. and then finally you will be able to select an architect.

I have some softcopy of books which you can help you more.

So.. many such small things can make your home look unique and beautiful at less cost.
