Kitchen Counter Top
Need help to choose the right granite/or any other reliable stone for kitchen counter top. What is the size ( thickness) we have to choose for this kitchen counter top ( would be placed on plywood boards) for 10 feet * 6 feet ( L Shape ) kitchen. Also need info about the price of these stones and reliable shops in Bangalore to purchase.

Re: Kitchen Counter Top
Hi,
If your kitchen counter bottom is done with ply full box then you need only 20mm granite. In case its supported by wall at some distance min 30mm must be used.
You can choose any dark granite since the porosity is less and even if it takes stain its not visible.
You can use artificial granite slabs called "quartz" @ 250+ per sft .it comes in very interesting colors. But keep in mind that you get only 5'x6' or 5'x7' or 5'x8' max slab size .So u need to plan such a way that slab fits in your kitchen with no much wastage.
In case you have large kitchen you need to thick before finalizing the quartz stone about availability of bigger slabs.
