AeroCon Blocks for House Construction
Re: AeroCon Blocks for House Construction
it is our practical experience in this field what we observed. Nothing from any book or video
Re: AeroCon Blocks for House Construction
i have seen the video. Generally the Acc block float in water.bcz of density less than other materials. Rate of observation is only shown on video. only partial was immersed in the water for Acc The right method of testing building materials is it should be immersed in water fully for 24 hrs as per ISI. so such video will misguide this form. the block has to be weight and found increase in density. We are not here to prove who is right or wrong. we are sharing our knowkdge. Let us not come to conculsion which is correct and which is not correct

I agree with you on this point. But when you say, you have observed this in your practical experience, you should be more concrete in your reply. You should tell us like what is the thickness of the block you have used for the wall. Have you been facing dampness issues in external walls, etc. If so, have they followed all the good practices while constructing the wall like using proper ratios in cement:sand mortar for wall building as well as plastering, have they done proper curing etc.We are not here to prove who is right or wrong. we are sharing our knowkdge. Let us not come to conculsion which is correct and which is not correct
As far I have searched on the web, the common observation is that they are less water-absorbent than clay bricks. In one site, the explanation they have given is that, the AAC blocks 'self-adjusts' itself i.e. though it absorbs water initially, it slowly releases back in to the air voids which are present in the composition of the block. I can share many more excerpts from the internet which testify this fact. But if your practical experience is to the contrary it would be vary valuable to the forum, if you can give us more concrete details of your AAC blocks experience which resulted in water dampness for walls.
Re: AeroCon Blocks for House Construction
As it has more tiny holes ( Honey comb) it is interconnected. to reduce weight and give required design strength. Even controlled concrete or well burned bricks/ with Min-m water content will have Honey comb and it is not interconnected. So possibility of water carrying from outside to inside is avoided. This is basic principal method of water observation of any materails works . This concept is compromised in the ACC manufacturing process for other engineering purpose.
Re: AeroCon Blocks for House Construction
For better understanding Get a sample of blocks from the manufacture and get test at a lab ( Civil Aid) and confirm water observation and decide where to use and what are the remedies to be done from a expert in real.( not from internet). it will give value for your money.

Water absorption is a very basic test conducted on building units,Surely an R&D which mass producing is not so ill informed to produce a unit which has more absorption than that cement blocks and clay bricks.Jult, please cite evidence.

wht type of evidence you are looking for, i am not able to understand, can you please brief to understand your doubts

Re: AeroCon Blocks for House Construction
If the water absorption is between 15 to 20 % by weight there's nothing to worry about..Jult if you have material testing reports to back your claim, please upload.
