Post by shashikoundinya »

Dear Memebers,
Like thousands of members I am also one of the beneficiary of this form, the experienced members have given the right information which helps person like me who does not have much experience in construction related issues
Now I request members to give opinion about the attached estimation which is given by our Engineer, I have enclosed the estimation sheet along with this plan ,I have also included the plan
1. we are trying to convert a hall into a living space ,in this process we had requested Engineer to give Estimation which I have enclosed .I request the members to go through the estimation and give me the feed back so that I can start the construction process.
Thanking all in advance
Shashi

1. Suggest you to look at Composite Doors (FRP) instead of Flush doors. They are technologically much more superior than flush doors. I did a lot of research before finalizing on Composite Doors. I visited their showroom and factory too. You can pm me for details. flush doors at Rs 450 per sqft seems expensive. Composite doors are comparatively much cheaper.
2. Windows. Do you have any windows/ wood which can be reused from existing house. if yes, use it.
3. Water supply/ sanitary work? is this only labour or inclusive of all fittings, closets etc? if its only labour, its very expensive. Even with material, it still looks a little expensive, since they only have to give connections onto the ground floor which is already in place.
4. Granite for Kitchen- per sqft 100-300Rs.
5. Toilet tiles- 700*125 . can you explain this? Is this 700 sqft of Toilet area at Rs 125/- per sqft? how did you arrive at 700 sqft?
6. Electrical work again looks very expensive. What is your total sqft?
