Choosing Granite Color
Choosing Granite Color
Hi, recently i visited one of my friend's newly constructed house. He used black granite for flooring and i liked it very much, so i am planning to use black granite for flooring. But my father is planning to use red color granite. What are the advantages on red color granite comparing to black and what is the cons and pros of this. is their any other color which looks good. This saturday i am going to krishnagiri / jigini for buying granite. Please give your valuable suggestions..

Re: Choosing Granite Color
Hi
As per my understanding, donot go for too much dark as it may not reflect light
I suggest some of the granites, and you can go for this to give rich look
Camel Skin( also called as Copper sking) comes in both vertical and gang size,
Vertical size: INR 130-150 Gang size: INR 220-240
Cheeku Pearl( Grey)
Only gansize: INR-240-INR 280
Cateyes( Light Red or Brown)
Vertical: INR 160-INR 220
Antique Brown
Vertical: INR -110-140
Cheema Brown
INR 90- INR 140

Re: Choosing Granite Color
Dear Krishna;
What is the technical (quality wise) difference between vertical and gangsize granite. why normally gangisze granite rates are higher.
regards
Sahu

Re: Choosing Granite Color
Hi
Vertical size:
Sizes will be 3feet x 8-10 feet
Polish will be manual and quality of polish will not be as good as Gangsize
Thickness variation ; varies from 15mm to max 18mm( rarely you will be 20 mm)
Processed in Low cost machine( both cutting and polishing)
Gang size
Size : 6 ftX 9 to 10ft
Polish will be very good
Processed in Very high end machines
Auto polish
Uniform thickness of 20mm( very minor deviations)
And your sample, one looks like TIger skin and other looks like material from Madurai
Avoid material with Waviness( lyning will be difficult as they have to match waves in each cut pc, unless a skilled labout handles it)
Avoid materials from Madurai as they will be soft( chances of porosity)
Normally material from Anhdra/Rajastan/Ilkal-karnataka/Orissa will be harder
Avoid material with Colur epoxy coating( you can get the problem while skirting for matching)
Transparent epoxy should be OK
Normally hard material will not have any epoxy
I can suggest you few shops
RPG-Quality will be good ( little expensive 20-30 compared to other shops- but quality will be assured, no headaches)
Sheetal-Jigani( they have 3-4 shpps, Brazil brown is good with them and price also varies from 90-100)
Navakar-Jigani
Vardhaman-Jigani-Specially for Rajastan Granites
Pearl-Jigani
Hope this helps you
