Contractor woes

Post by Vimal »

Hi,

I have issues settling my bills with my contractor. All along i believed my architect would do bill checking to his best. But recently, I found out several errors to the tune of 2 lacs or more in bill verification. The contractor is not willing to rectify and pay the amount back. Under this circumstance, what are the choices do I have to settle this matter ? Looking forward to the suggestions.

Thanks

Firstly Verification of the bills at Actuals is the responsibility of the owner. He can't delegate to someone else,
unless it is specifically agreed & implemented.

Try to negotiate, if required you bring in a neutral person who is acceptable to both sides and settle the issue
amicably. If the contractor is adamant and not willing to settle it, you can file a fraud case at police or a case
of "deficiency of service" at Consumer Redressal Court. if you have all the valid proofs in documentary format,
you can argue yourself, no need to hire any lawyer,.
