Carpenter charges and wood rates

Guys,

My carpenter is quoting
Doorframe + fixing (flush door) - 65/sqft
main door - 230/ sqft
wardrobe (inside paint/outside laminated) - 185 /sqft
wardrobe (bothside lamination) - 335/ sqft

Please let me know if this is on the higher side and the reasonable price as of today.
I could not get wardrobe rates on any forum, can somebody me point if there is any.

Wardrobe looks expensive to me. My carpenter is charging me (labor only) me the following:
Wardrobe Rs. 170 / sft (both side lamination) only for shutters and few drawers since I already have structure made from masonry
Kitchen (box inside and outside laminate): Rs. 230 / sft

my carpenter is charging 150rs persqft boxtype wardrobe and outside laminate
if it is both Side laminate then 180 to 250rs sqft

for kitchen he charged 250rs for below counter and 300rs for above counter both side laminate and drawer is tandem box if it is regular baskets then it is lesss

Which wood are you guys using? And where to buy the wood for the wood work? Can you also let me know the details of your carpenter.

Today i have got a quotation for carpentry work, details are as follows,

main door+design+fixing ---- rs.250
Flush door--------- rs. 100
Internal wooden door ----- rs. 200
French winfow--------- rs.200
Plain window --------- rs.125
Beeding -------- rs.6/ft
lock fixing------------ rs.175/lock
i feel this is very hig can you pleas coment on this?

I strongly feel the quotation you have got is very high. I have got a quotation of just Rs120(or Rs130, not sure bcz my sister takes care about this) for French beeding. Will let you know all rates as soon as I get her from office

I am doing TV Unit,Loft in bedroom in Surya city,Chandapura.The carpenter is asking Rs 180 per s.ft(both side lamination-inner side white laminate and outside selected choice laminate).Is that reasonable for labour charges?

HI Prabhakar,

Costs depends on carpernter work and quality, normally it ranges between Rs. 120 - 250 per sqft.

Normally Lofts will be charged less as it will be of frame type where you donot have ply on other sides.
