Bathroom is one of the most intrinsic areas in any household where bacteria blossom. With the water element being widely used in the bathroom, it is essential to keep the bathroom clean and bacteria free. While a number of bathroom cleaning chemicals are available in the market today, most of them have a high level toxicity in themselves. Here are 10 ways to have a bacteria free bathroom by replacing the harsh chemicals with natural organic substances
Buy organic cleaning solutions: Use organic and biodegradable organic cleaning solutions if you may or are too pressed for time to create your own homemade cleaning solution. It is imperative to know that a lot of manufacturers claim their disinfectants to be organic and non-toxic, but do not divulge the details on the pack in the name of trade secret. Avoid such chemicals that hide the details of the ingredients in the cleaning solution.
Vinegar as toilet bowl cleaner: White vinegar is an excellent do it yourself (DIY) recipe to clean out the toilet bowl. Use half a cup of white vinegar and swish it around the towel bowl. Let it stand for a few minutes, scrub with a brush and flush. You can also add borax to the vinegar to remove stubborn stains.
Remove hard water stains using Vinegar: Cleaning the faucet with a mixture of white vinegar and a dash of baking soda or sodium bicarbonate must be scrubbed on the surface of the faucet using an old toothbrush. The vinegar and baking soda compound breaks any remaining deposits or stains.
Using baking soda for scrubbing Sink: A paste made up of baking soda and pure water is an excellent homemade solution to clean all the bathroom sinks and taps. The use of a tooth brush allows a good 360 degree reach to cover the difficult areas especially behind the back of sink faucets and other areas. If the faucet aerators and tap heads are removable, they can be removed and dipped in a solution of pure white vinegar overnight to remove the common stains in the pores.
Vinegar for clean mirrors: Prepare a chemical with parts water and 1 part white vinegar and add it to a spritzer bottle. The spray can be used to clean all bathroom mirrors without any toxic chemicals. The solution of vinegar and water brings a natural luster to the glass surface making it appear clean and shiny.
Bring back the sparkle back and lost shine: If the bathroom faucets appears to be quite abrasive and devoid of shine after cleaning, a dash of oil soaked in a paper towel must be rubbed on the surface of the faucet to bring back its luster and lost shine.
Homemade all purpose bathroom cleaner: Prepare a homemade non toxic bathroom cleaning solution by adding equal amounts of borax, vinegar and water. You can add a dash of dish washing cleaning liquid to bring in some lather for the cleaning solution.
Essential Oils: Rather than using chemical based bathroom purifiers, one can use essential oils like lavender oil either splashes on a towel of used with an open bottle to add a sense of natural freshness to the bathroom.
Chemical free floor cleaner: Dish-washing soap, vinegar and water is a perfect floor cleaning agent that can fight all bacteria while offering a clean organic and toxic free solution.
Elbow grease: Rather than focusing on chemical compounds to remove the hard stains, using effort by rubbing the stains using human force can sometimes remove even the most stubborn of stains.
