Shopping in China for house construction material

I have heard people going to China for purchasing construction material like sanitary fixtures, lighting fixtures etc... These things I heard... none in my immediate circle have tried it. Any info on this would help.

Ridiculous. Absolutely not worth for the effort and the price you put in to buy a handful Qty.
Moreover you do not get any warranty/replacements/service in case of any defects.

I have seen big projects like hotels, offices where they buy from China. It makes sense as they buy in large quantities, lot of new decorative stuffs which are not available in India can be purchased for lesser price. But for a house, I am with msn1270.

Hi,
Shopping in china for below premium range products is not feasible.People go there to buy a singe sofa set costing 4-6 lac and above ,so don't imagine a jaquar tap costing 300/- we will get the extra ordinary quality for 200/- (you do get but need to buy 20 to 30 k pieces only then its worth ).
I personally went there couple of times.You get every product in 3-4 different qualities ( Indian - US - German - Italian ).prices ranges based on the quality you ask for but all the qualities looks alike.
If you plan ahead you can buy tiles,lights,furniture,plumbing,upvc windows,doors,interior show articles,hardware and minimum half container volume is must .you should go there with minimum purchase of 30-40 lac any thing less is useless and time waste.your quantification should be precised level other wise you end up in shortage .
You should have proper back up servicing here in india like upvc installation guy ,furniture fabricators etc..

Agent you go with is very very important otherwise you will be cheated left and right.
China purchase is feasible only for large volumes in mid and economical segment or need to be very premium segment.
