I also have the same question , can any one let me know the labour charges to build compound wall, - plain wall can be considered for example.
As I had agreed to pay this extra - with my mason - what is the current market rate.

1400 RFT is what I have my contractor, to be precise this is what it reads - Compound wall 6” thick solid block masonry both side plastering painting for main gate normal design per Rft Rs. 1400/

I could not understand what "Sun" as disclosed off.

For example if we have compound for 30*40 site - will it be 30+30+40+40 = 140 RFT
140*1400 = 1,96,000/- . I am assuming its material + labour cost.

Does any one have an idea about what will be the labour only cost ?

If someone is estimating approximately ~2lac for 30x40 compound it is daylight robbery.
Do the estimate for yourself using following rough guideline
Mason = 550/day. Each Mason requires 2 helper = 300/person = 600 Rs. You might want to employ lady employees also whose cost is less = 200 Rs. In total 1300 to 1400 Rs you will be paying on labour/day. Each mason can do block construction upto 30 running ft for 4 lines of solid block. if 5 ft compond is desired then approx 6 lines of blocks are required. Assuming 10 ft of gate. then effectively you have running ft of 130. Also for every 8 ft put small Iron pillar of height 5 ft using 8/10 mm rods. In this case you can use 4" blocks. so no of 4" blocks required is 130 ft x 6 lines x (16/12 length of block) = 1040 blocks. So roughly in 2 days 30 running ft of compound including filling concrete to iron pillar can be completed. In effect 8 days of effort is there. Plastering you need to employ 2 masons and 4 helper and 2 lady helper. which comes to approx 2700/day. a good mason can cover 300 sqft of plastering per day. considering both side of plastering total sqft area will be 130 rft x 5 ft height x 2 sides = 1300 sqft. which can be completed in 5 days. Also for earth work digging for 2 ft deep for 130 rft will cost you around 3k. the boulders for that might cost you around 7k to 10 k. sand you can use robo sand for earth work and for remaining you might require 450 cft of sand. so for sand in total around 40k. Cement you might require around 40 bags.roughly if you add up it will come to 1.1 lac. With this rough estimate you can bargain.

I got boundary wall done for my site 3 months back at 650Rs/ RFT including the foundation. This did not include plastering.

35K seems be a reasonable ask for labour contractor for 30*40 site (4ft height red-brick compound wall , 2 feel deep earthwork).

Hi All,

The rate for compound wall including plastering and painting will be Rs. 750/rft
4'6'' ht and 2' below ground.
You can deduct the gate size in rft.
