Here is the detailed Estimate received from Lingel for my house. currently i am not going with UPVC

I'm joining the group bargaining here:

I have a space that needs a 12 feet wide by 6.5 feet tall window.
If I am lucky enough to get my mason back ( he's run off with the advance...) then the base and surrounding support for the window will be custom built.

The window MUST be water proof and soundproof, it faces a very noisy road.
Please let me know how I can join the collective bargain: I am calling LG Hausys based on the info in this thread, but am looking for a good deal - installation, rate, quality

I visited the LG fabrication factory, I should say that those folks are very sweet. Somehow the finishing at the joining does not seem to be very clean I checked multiple windows somehow the joining edges are not done cleanly. Also, the Click Locks also not seem to be (great) but of course for the price that they are quoting they are a good buy

Hi,

1. I'm going for complete contract, contractor is insisting to go for red sal wooden window, I asked for Aluminium powder coated shutter window or UPVC shutter window because of cost factor and maintenance. Contractor says Al or UPVC are not reliable and water may come inside house during rainy day. Please advice me on this and let me know the price ranges between each other. Is there any brand for recommendation?

2. What will be the cost range for single window grill (simple design) cost?

Hi Pradeep: Wood and Aluminium and Upvc all has its own advantages and disadvantages, First is wood : in wood there are several kinds of wood
1) sal wood : in this there are three types Red Sal(Frame) , Gum Sal , and Normal ,and price varies from 900/Cft to 1200/cft excluding Cutting Planning and VAT which has become compulsory in wood purchase now , and for shutters do not go for same wood since as the size of shutter will be only 3"X1.5" it will surely bend in future , so for shutters u can go with Honne wood which costs around 2200/Cft or Gana teak which will ve almost same price , teak has become upto 3300 for Burma teak so cost wise its very high , but Honne is the best wood presently in market for both strength and Durabilty ,
2) Aluminium Windows are much more cheaper compared to Wood the overall cost for a 3 Track window will be around 350 Rs when compared to wood with redsal frame and honne Shutter and 12mm Hexagon rod which come to nearly 550/sft , in aluminium there are three parts thickness of material kind of grill , for simple its around 90-120/sft(12mm square rod ) since its very deep i hope this information helps u to finalise ur contract , and i ve just registered to this site
3) UPVC is the best material but cost wise its too high but very low maintainance , i think aluminium is the best to go with if u ve any quarries means u can conact me

Pradeep, as Darwin has mentioned, based on Profile Alumimium pricing varies...Check out JINDAL and HIDALCO aluminium sections, they are very good and Solid and priced at around 600/=

Hi, what would be the cost difference if i go for solid blocks or red bricks. Please suggest me the price as well. I am planning to construct G+1 on a 30*40 plot. How many bricks or blocks i might need?

For every square metre of wall
Blocks:
4inch 22 Rs per block 11.5X22--253 Rs
6 inch 26 Rs per block 11.5X26--299 Rs
Bricks :
4 1/2 inch : 5.5 Rs 44 Bricks per square metre
9 inch : 421 Bricks per cunic metre
Blocks to Bricks u can save 20 percent its only for wall not in overall
Please c it depends on quality of material also blocks appco and abhiman are very good in quality but cost is also high not wat I ve given above , u ll save sand and cement also in block

Simply a 10 X10 room means u cant tell , it depends on simple lengthXbreadth(height) calculation just deduct the openings see the height of building and u can take coefficient from my previous post u ll get it , example a wall of 10 feet length 10feet height with no openings
