I have been procuring sand for Rs. 20500 for a 375 cft lorry, for the past 7-8 months for my construction. Now, my contractor informed me that price of same sand and same quantity has gone up to Rs. 35,000. Is this correct? Has there been such a sharp increase in sand price. The last time I got sand at 20500 was around 3-4 weeks ago.

Can anyone one recommend reliable contact to get good river sand for plastering work.

I heard there is some issue around sand availability ( restriction from govt )
I am also on the same foot , had been getting sand for 23K from last 6 months , now I have not called my vendor yet.
Will keep posted when I have some info on this.

There are many finishes to Granites like Flamed, Leather, Lapothra, etc. If you ask the granite show room guys, they will show you the samples of these finishes. I saw Lapothra finished Silver grey granite in RPG granites on Bannerghatta road, but they quoted Rs 230/SFT which is high as I could get the same for Rs 128 in Naavkar. I don't think you will get flamed granites directly. You have to procure granite slabs and get the flaming done. Many shops do the same at an extra cost. You could visit Bannerghatta road granite shops and Jigani to get an idea.
Even i visited HMG & RPG Granites over last weekend their prices seem to be way above the shops in Jigani. The difference is close to 100rs or more. Any idea why it might be like this? Or is it of extremely good quality that they are quoting 100rs more than the usual ones?

After several days of hunt, today I procured good river sand for Rs 33500 /load as no one was willing to sell anything below that. The same one was costing Rs 26000 3-4 weeks back. To get this also, my contractor visited few places like Nelamangala, Mysore road/Nice rd junction. Indeed sand price is skyrocketing due to monsoon season.

stone_cold: I am sure that the steel grey granite quality in RPG is no different than the one I got from Jigini. So I don't know why they price it high
