Input required for kitchen ventilatio

Post by nagsbhat »

Dear All,
Please let me know your thoughts if there will be enough ventilation is there in kitchen. Please note the following
- Kitchen faces the road
- Road is on east
- Window sizes are noted in text
- Windows are marked in dark red.
- I am just thinking there is one more window required on south side of the kitchen.

Regards,
Nag

Since Window is placed near the Stove it may become oily, sticky & difficult to maintain hence reposition the window placement.

agree with santro (not just that - it would be difficult to operate as well - since the stove will be in the way when you try to open and close).

Also, instead of having 2 windows, make one large window. You can reposition the stove (close to the south east end of the wall the better per vastu), and then make one large window in the remainder of the wall. But remember - doing this will reduce wall space where you could have had cabinets (if you are going for modular kitchen).

Thanks Santro and blrsiteseeker. I will increase the size of the window to 5 ft wide and re-position the stove towards south east. That way my chimney will not be immediately in front of the window as well. However, do you think 5 ft wide 3 ft high window will provide enough light? Do you think another window may be 3 x 3 is required on south?

Try to make it as a Corner Window at South East end.
