Shops for Plumbing and electrical materials

My plumber suggested to go for PVC supreme and CPVC ashirvad. Is any clue why this ? . Is it good to for PVC /CPVC both for supreme? .Share your experience.

Today i visisted one shop in SJP road and they offered me 45% discount for PVC and CPVC supreme/ashirvad brands. This is for pipes/all other equipment not the final fitting items like piple/commode/sink etc.

Today I purchased Supreme PVC and Ashirwad CPVC from Karnataka hardware in Jayanagar and the discounts are

Supreme PVC -> 40% on MRP
Ashirwad CPVC -> 45% on MRP

On the discounted total bill amount, a VAT of 5.5% is added.

They said they procure the pipes from Mahesh pipes (distributor) and their cost price itself comes to the discounted rates ( I don't think this will be true). Even though, I bought quite some items and I paid by cash, they said these are the best discounts and they can not offer more. And they said they can not do away with VAT too. They said some vendors who claim to offer a higher discount might put a higher MRP and they said the comparison should be done on the discounted bill amount and not on % discount.

I purchased Toto Commodes and Geberit concealed tanks from Maruthi Ceramics(on Banaswadi, near to Outer Ring road), at 30% discount ( 14.5% Vat. extra). So the actual discount has been somewhere around 20%. I am not sure if this is the best deal, but PC Sampath and some other shops offered me only 15-18% discounts on all these items.
The reason why I chose Toto is, that is the only one which comes with whirlpool flush(which I believe would be more effective). If you want to put all sanitary fixtures high end, then Maruthi Ceramic have some packages as well. You can probably check with them.

Now I am looking for a good Kohler dealer. When i compared the basic versions of Kohler and Jaguar, the prices are almost similar. I am thinking Kohler would be better as its a global brand and will have their own factories(Rather than Jaguar producing it from some chinease factory and labelling it Jaguar). The best discount offered to me so far is 15%, but i am yet to check with most of the Kohler shops. Anyone knows any Kohler dealer, who gives good discounts???

I took Toto 122k (its a wall mount 2 piece commode with external tank) all all my bathrooms except commom bathrooom. For Common Bathroom i took Toto 580K. For 580K I took Geberit Midline series concealed tank. Both these Toto models comes with soft close toilet seats . If you are relying on borewell water, its better to have external tank than concealed one.

And for Kohler I got 20% discount from Kohler dealer in HSR layout. With that discount, the price is almost the same as Jaguar.

Today visited an shop , he offered 45% discount on Ashirwad Pipes and fittings.
let me know if any one know a better offer in south bangalore ( Uttarahalli)

PS: Rates are going up 3% , from 1st July 2013.
