1) instead of Borewell water > overhead tank > softener > water purifier(no RO required) , can we connect

Borewell water >sump-> softener->overhead tank > water purifier(no RO required) ?

Why you want to fill sump first when u can directly fill overhead tank from borewell?
coarse silt will deposit in both sump as well as overhead tank
U need submersible pump for sump 9k extra,u can use sump for cauvery water if it is available
Borewell water >overhead tank > softener->water purifier(no RO required) standard setting

2) so Rainy filter FL-150 - 4750 Rs
Softener mini 6000 to 46000 available in kent
Water purifiers - 15000+

so approximately it would cost 5000+35000+ 15000 = 55000 rs for full fledged water purification based on our demand.....

rainy filter 4750rs +2500-3500(materials+labour to fix) this is separate its for rainwater harvesting only.not for purification.

softener(its optional) (softens large quantity)if borewell water is too hard(TDS 700> )and if u want soft water for your entire house to prevent scaling on taps tiles commodes,kitchen sink,for washing clothes and taking shower( more lather) just like cauvery water then u need to spend 35k+ 8k for uf+uv water purifier.

3) filter - > just removed the particles/dust in the water
softener -> removed the chemicals like calcium/magnesium with salt(sodium) . Conversion of hard water into soft water by exchange of hard salts of Calcium and Magnesium ions with Sodium using the table salt. It doesn't do UV+RO+tds etc
purifier - > again treating the water with UV+RO (optional)+Tds

Is my understanding correct?
yes your correct

4) I have seen borwell->sump->overhead tank->water purifier , HOw effective this is without softener with only water purifier which cost only 15000 Rs instead of softner which cost 34000 though both the function is different? .
borwell->>overhead tank->water purifier
Ro water purifier its quite effective but it is meant for small quantity max 80 liters per day for drinking & cooking only.for kitchen only to purify 8 liters it takes 30-45mins(for 8 liters of pure water u have 24 liters wastage)
for other purposes u need to use borewell water directly from overhead tank.

5) Is purifier can remove the chemicals like calcium/magnesium with salt(sodium) by RO+UV+tds technique where most people using this way without softener? i: e Borewell water >sump-> overhead tank > water purfier(no RO required) , is this can be connected?

Borewell water > overhead tank >softener> water purfier(no RO required) entire house
Borewell water > overhead tank > water purifier(RO required) use it for drinking & cooking only.for kitchen only.for other purposes u need to use borewell water directly from overhead tank. everybody including myself( my borewell water TDS 650) using this setup without softener.

thanks it is very clear. I have also seen many houses being used without softner as it being costly with only Purifier. I too thinking of the same approach as softner as it is very costly..

Is our plumber can install the Rain filter FLV 150 0r 100 , or the dealer need to install the same? . Is the charge or around 5000 is inclusive of all or just for the equipment where we need to pay the installation labour charge separately?

1.I am not getting clearer with total price -- material price - 4750
labour charge to fix - 2500

What is is this 3500 Rs?

2. Is it very tricy to fix as my plumber has not done one like that earlier?.....

Labour and materials may cost you in the range of 2500RS TO 3500RS

You can refer to the installation manual(they have pictures) and guide your plumber. in the box u will be having all the fittings. plumbers need to drill holes and just assemble all the components and connect inlet and outlet pipes.its very easy to install.

May be out of context... Still, I was working on the feasibility of installing an RO Plant for my home. I want to know
(i) How much an RO Plant would cost, capacity aroung 100-200 Litres per hour
(ii) How costly it is to maintain??
(iii) what would be the conversion efficiency. how many litres of hardwater would be required to make 100Lts of pure soft water

Any idea??
