should we require sanction plan(corporation) for renuvating

Hi Guys

i am renuvating my old house in which i need demolish a front wall and extend a bit further towards the front compound wall , do i require to take permision from the corporation for comming forward a few feet. basically there is poteco upsairs and a space below, in this space i need to construct a room so should i take permission from the corporation, please guide me, need u r help
