Hi Mahesh,

Let me know the shop details. I'm planning for normal hinges and basket. Either SS 202 or Good powder coated basket.

sometimes people qutoe less price and after completion they demand more and also play cheap trick and they dont complete the work on time

few days back i got quotation rs875 for cabinets inside laminate and mdf shutter rs 300 per sft after final quotation again he offered 15% discount ...waterproof ply 70 range and merino laminate ...they take 25 to 30 days for completion

i enquired both ss baskets and tandem boxes price ...both r same hence i finally deciding to buy tandembox hettich and soft closin hinges fro ebco ....we can minimize our budget by reducing some accessories like corner unit and bottle pull out

i hardly have 10 days and i enquired 2 persons all r busy ..need good carpenter who has exp in doin tandem boxes n who can start work by this weekend ...plz refer good carpenter

wat is the maximum discount offerred for

Hi Blrsiteseeker, your idea to convert the wardrobes into walkin and thus save 80% of cost is brilliant. I am considering the same idea now Thanks :-)

Hi All
I enquired for a kitchen cabinet and was quoted as follows:

HR Johnson MarinePly (or Timbor Cucine)
Hettich fittings
Installation, shipping VAT all included.
15yrs guarantee (not just warranty)

9'x3'H and 5'x3'H kitchen cabinets with standard drawers (eg: bottle, large drawers etc) (15' linear length)

Two 2'x10'H tall units (for electricals such as mixie, microwave etc & groceries)

No cabinets overhead.

Price quoted is around 1.9-2.3L which works out to approx Rs. 2200 psf.

For wardrobes and bookcases approx 1100 rs psf. using "normal" MDF/plywood

Appreciate your views on this.

Any info about modular kitchen using Ex-cel plastic integral sheet?
Its coming in solid 18mm thickness sheets and can be used just like ply. The shutters are then coater with plastic primer just like how we pain bumpers of a car.
Once primer is done, we paint in any colour even metallic and then PU for the final coat.
Its 100% water proof.
And lots of colour combinations.
Other things are it dosent have too many fixing using any kind of adhesive (laminate / edge binding which an peel of in some time).
Scratches can also be dealt with just taking that one piece to a paint shop.
This is now getting quiet popular in kerala. Not sure if any body does this kind of work in Bangalore.
Please share the details if you come across.

You can check out the modern kitchen design from RTA Cabinets. They have wide varieties of design. You can at least get an idea about the trendy kitchen.

Is anywhere readymade modular kitchen available where i can directly assemble it? I saw blum products but they told you need first make the boxes as per our sizes then buy hinges/latches etc from us and fix it . Is this way we do?

How did carpenter know about the sizes of hinges/design available as normally all the carpenters are not equipped to do this??
