Marble/Granite Laying Charges

Post by ankit_mmmec »

Hello,

Can anyone please guide me with the Marble/Granite laying charges.
Laying charges for Granite varying from Rs. 25 to Rs. 30, but having lots of doubt for marble laying charges.
Marble shop owners are telling marble laying charge is Rs.35 to Rs. 40 but few others are charging even more that Rs. 55.

Please let me know current marble laying charges include all chemical polishing. Am planning to put katni (Indian Marble).

Cheers,

What are the major quality factors? because every one is telling 7 coats and chemical polish....
I mean what all are the things which i should take care before finalizing the layer?

Yes true confusing.
My contractor says his labour charges for Italian Marble (misnomer...actually from Oman) would be charged 65 per sft. (incl 7 coats) and chemical (epoxy) material charge around 20 p sft.
Where are normal Indian Marble he would have charged only 30 rs.
some independent layer quoted even Rs 90-120 for labour.

Actually for Italian Marble they say its very fragile as compared to other Marble and therefore need be more careful while laying, so they are quoting high for Italian Marble.

What are the 7 coats and epoxy polishing, i mean is there any way i can keep a check if the Marble layer is doing all 7 coats and chemical polishing??

I heard that which ever granites has more appealing colors are chemical polished, and it will fade as years passes. So choose the granite which are not chemical polished. This is input i received from buyer ,but granite sellers not agreeing to it saying every stones need polishing which is done by chemical one and it wont fade. I am not sure who is right?

Granites which are polished along with color (you can clearly make out seeing the Granite if they are polished with color by seeing its side) may fade...!!!

so you mean to say polish with apoxy is bad as normally 99% using apoxy chemical for polishing. Is granite we can find without apoxy chemical color polish?
