Wardrobes fittings

Post by SIVAVENKAT »

Hi

I am getting the wardrobes done by a carpenter on labour rate basis. I need advice on the following things.

1. Do I use cup hinges or butt hinges for the wardrobe/loft doors ?
2. Where do I get the hinges at reasonably discounted rates(hettich or ebco brands) in bangalore / chennai ?
3. what kind of exterior lamination will be maintenance free ? (planned to let out the house on rent as I am working away from my dream home)

If anyone is planning to buy these items this weekend or next week and interested in buying together, please send me a PM.
Mine is 10 wardrobes and 15 lofts.

Thanks

You can buy the hardware from Killari Road (Perpendicular to BVK Iyengar road) or Avenue road. The price difference between Hettich and Ebco is hardly 5-10% for hinges.
For hinges the shop vendor recommened Haffele as being the best product in the market.

You could also try Ismail hardware shop on commercial street, they give good discount for hettich/ebco hinges and other hardwares.. The shop is towards the end of commercial street, opposite to westside..
