Answer for your query on Power output for a 0.5kW Panel lies in your Q itself.
alternately I can say, the voltage output of panels have multiple options like 12V/24V/48V DC.
Based on this rating and current rating your Battery and Inverter systems need to be selected.

3 months back I got a quote for a 12V DC output panel, Rs. 55 per watt (Negotiable) and you get can go for total output power of the panel customized to your need like 130W, 240W, 500W. 1000W...etc. Prices are declining slowly.
"Msn"Thanks a lot for the info, From your answer I came to know that we can have multiple options (12/24/48v DC). Any other info you have then please pass it on, I am planning to go for a duplex G+1, and there is ample open space on the rooftop. I am planning for 1KW.

The quote you have received is from a chinese make or European/US made panels ? Yes I can able to see that the prices are declining, but before I start my electrical work I want to have the provision of setting up the inverter connections too.

Generally (seeing neighbours), they have 2-3 separate lines based on utilization. One of the lines will have lightings on key areas like hall, kitchen, tv and may be a FAN in the hall etc.
Geyser and other high wattage devices are connected to a separate line. When KEB power goes off only one line gets power from backup automatically.

Monagaadu.

G+1 or so is not important. How much space available on your terrace and the sun light availability period in a day makes the difference for your installation.

Usually almost all the makes available worldwide are made by Chinese only. Importing original European branded panels is very difficult and not economical at small quantities. Also many of the European brands are designed at their homeland, but manufactured in China and sold in their name. So segregating the origin is not practical. Also many of the US and European Solar PV Panel makers are closing as they're unable to compete with the chinese makers and financially bleeding. In Many countries like US & Germany.. makers are asking Government to put anti-dumping duty on chinese products for their survival, But it is not practical and against WTO trade agreement.

Recently i read in a news paper article and the same is also shared in this forum, that at around 3 lakhs investment, nano technology based imported Solar Power panels installation is done in a house at HSR Layout and the user is able to use this alternate power 24X7 and has not taken BESCOM connection at all.

Dear Pradeep

Here are few info for your queries

1. Before proceeding to think about solar power unit, Do I need to analysis on maximum sun light fall period on my house terus area. My house faces to south, my adjacent house at east have one extra floor than mine, It prevent sun light to fall till 10am.

- Usually Panels are installed facing towards south direction, where maximum sunlight falls on the panel. Effectively Sun light is considered only for the period between 10:a.m to 4:0 p.m. Other mode is directional controlled using the stepper motor, which is advanced method and expensive, where the entire panel direction will be controlled and changed as per the peak sun light availability angle based on the sun sensor, which is not affordable for domestic projects.

2. What about the maintenance period/amount for this batteries? (life time of batteries)
Life of battery depends on the type of batteries you buy and also on regular maintenance. On an average 3-5 years.

3. Can give dealer name & brand you went for (Solar Panel/Batteries/Invertor/Wires/ Any other equipments)
I've not installed it as of now.

4. Do electrical conduit need to provided at mould level for this solar power connection. My electrician have given connection for AC powerpack invertor, at this moment we have completed laying electrical conduits on wall.
Usually your whole system will be placed on the terrace and the wiring will be passed to the required points as per your convenience.
Co-ordinate with your engineer/architect on the wiring stage.

5. How much your electrican asked for solar connection in your house. (Is it based on sq. ft or switch Point basis)
---
6. How much hours of electricity your solar panel can generates in average bangalore weather.
Its based on the sunlight availability, solar Panel power rating and the battery storage capacity. The charging duration also varies based on
these factors. Also based on the number of bulbs/fans you use at a time, decides the back up power duration. Say if you use the power at
full capacity i.e at 1KW continuously - your back duration will be maximum 1 hour. If you use 500w it will be 2 hours, at 250W it will be 4
hours...etc

7. In general people will go for Solar water heater line since BESCOM insist the same for new connection, instead of Solar water heater, If I go
for solar power unit. whether BESCOM will consider.
No idea. check the details of BESCOM policy.

8. How much watts / voltage you went for 68k? (Price split-up if possible)

Hi jai_nethala,

you can try calling Selco ( http://www.selco-india.com ) . As a social enterprise, they are doing fantastic work in rural solar electrification. I am planning to buy from them (have n't met them yet).

I have also seen some systems from EMMVEE and TechSer. All from Bangalore
