Skylight work
Hi,
I am looking for a contractor to get skylight work done for my home. Totally, there are six skylights. Please let me know if you know the contractor.
Thanks
Vimal

Re: Skylight work
my skylights have come out very nice. The guy has provided grill work (for safety, with the sheets and also made provisions for lighting if and when I decide to put it), the design of the skylight is very nice (which my architect did). There is a vent and mesh for hot air exhaust from the house. If you need, I can send you his contact info. Only thing is he was quick with some things, but took some time for a couple of them. You just have to be on his case.
He also did my railings and garage door etc. they came out good too.

Re: Skylight work
Here is a picture of the skylight (over our bathroom, this is a small one), we also have one over the living/dining room which is much larger, but unfortunately, I can't find a picture of that. But the design of both are identical, except for size.
Re: Skylight work
if need to have skylight ,then 1. Did we need to adjust the roof strcture using cantiliver etc,is that right ?
2. If need to close tommorrow if possible, if planning to construct first floor as anybody could see us.................

Re: Skylight work
Hi,sam
There is not special structural care to be taken for skylights as long as they are in size of 5-6' .you can close the skylight in future to construct one more floor ,but need to chip the slab around skylight lap the steel and concrete.
One important thing is to make at least 6" wall around skylight is must to avoid rain water entering in to the slab (like what you see in above image- thanks to blrsiteseeker)
Vimal
Depending up on your site location i can recommend some one incase i know one in that area.
