5.3 red sal frame for 5*4.6 max it may require 2.5 cft n grill 15 rods 1000rs +honne shutters max1.5 cft +glass 1500 +labour +fittings

roughly 10k for red sal frame n honne shutter 10k max

similarly for upvc window size 5*4.6 = 23 sqft * rs 675=15525

all these calculation r approxmate

Thanks Mahesh. So, it comes to about rs 500 psft for the wood. So, what could be the total cost including primer and painting and his profit. Can I ask for rs 650/sft? Will that be reasonable.

if u guys considering upvc its all best to consider wood frames n shutters ..my budget is less so im going for red sal/whitesal ...if ur constructing ur dream house n not for rent then honne is the best option to go for n lil more if u go for full teak wood ....n my carpenter suggested that we can reduce the wood size for door n window frame sizes example 5*2.5 or 4*3 or 4*2.5 ..these standard sizes so cost wise it will be less

i have given the approx fig it might be less r lil more say 1000 or 2000

wood is proven we had used full teak wood for old house it still looks brand new n honne also ...i dont know abt red sal n other wood ....if we order upvc for more than 1 lac then will get lil more discount

paint or polishing will be max 2k recently i asked a painter who was doing matt finishing for window n doors he told me that rs 55 per sqt with material cost

i purchased red sal for g floor 21 cft cost me 18900 if i had gone for honne 21*190=39900 thats all n window shutters n frames will be same if we go for either of them

now a days its diff to get good red sal or white sal

@JollyRogers, I would be buying around the same time and I would like to join you to purchase uPVC windows together. Also can you please let me know the details of the fabrication guy from whom you have received the quote of 58 per sft for 12 mm rods. I might well join you in getting my grill work done from the same vendor hoping to get a better rate.

am planning for Casement windows and as of now I am not thinking of having any sliding windows. For grills, I plan to fix it separately and I am currently getting a quote of Rs.58 per Sq.ft for 12 mm rods.
Jolly, Are you sure that its per sft and NOT per kg?

Per Kg rate is b/w 55-60. The per sft for 12 mm rod may be around 150-160 is my guess.

Sorry, yes, I meant, Rs.58 per kg. Including labour it is costing me Rs.77 per KG. (The fabrication guy informed me that it costs the same even if I go per Sq.ft as it costs about 150 per sq.ft).
