Selection of windows - Wood/Aluminium/UPVC

Not sure if it is appropriate, as per vastu, sliding windows are to be avoided. I understand that people buying flats, have very limited options on this front, however, those with independent houses could give a thought to this.

Regarding maintenance front do hinges on casement window is replacable, later do we able to get hinges of same type or it can be re-fixed for any problems.

Last weekend I checked with BLK Lifestyle, Marathahalli for REHAU Upvc window, they charging 450rs/sft (2 track) sliding window & 500 Rs/sft (3 track). They have their own factory.

Initially they told transportation & installation will be extra. I need to send my window dimension for sq. area and get quote for the same.

I had been to BLK too. They are part of BL Kashyap co. The prices are quite comparable with LG Hausys. Since the measurements need to be taken after the first coat of paint, I havent finalized on this yet. Thanks for updating the price they quoted. Atleast looks like the prices are finally coming down for UPVC windows. (Earlier they were quoting Rs.650).

I got a quote from WHWintech profile (Madhu industries)for UPVC windows 3 track with mosquito net for an average cost of Rs. 460 psft includig VAT etc and installation.

Can someone tell me the approximate cost in per sft
1. for burma teak windows including the security rods and the glass, shutters etc?
2. With Salwood frame and Honne shutters/glass+security rods.

It will be helpful to choose the b/w UPVC and various wood combination based on the cost.

I'm also eager to know square feet cost for honne shutter & red sal frame vs UPVC window + grill.

Though I am not sure of the exact price, but my engineer was saying that the cost of having Burma Teak Fames and shutters will cost you the same as UPVC windows. (With Security rods).
Not sure on Salwood frame and Honne shutters. However I think the price might be anywhere between 20-40% less than UPVC.

true any wood red sal or honne or teak will be cheaper than upvc

It may depened on type of UPVC you are going. The white one from Wintec or other brands (not fenesta) including grill will cost 10% less than what Salwwod and Honne shutters with security rods would cost from the quote I have received from my contractor. I was planning to go with UPVC initially but changed my mind to go with wood. Thats the reason I'm asking memebers here to guide me on the approximate cost of the wood windows of 5"*3" thick Sal/Honne wood.

My contractor is quoting 750/sft and the upvc is coming to 650-675/psft including grill and installation. Please help.
