Suggestion on taps

I need suggestion on choosing taps for kitchen and bathroom.

Shop guy told me not go for taps that comes with regular washer kind..i.e. where we need to rotate multiple time rounds to close and on. Instead he suggested for Half rotate nob like.i.e. just half turn tap for on/off of tap.

reason is that in regular rotation tap chances of having washer struct and leak are more which could be avoided by half turn knob taps.

Please suggest on this.

Half turn ones have ceramic discs & are for long use. The threaded types are quite old fashioned.
