Couple of Clarifications.

Post by amit_pearl2 »

Inputs /views would be of great help.

1. Sites on Encroached lake bed would not be regularised in SAKRAMA(as per Govt Orders). Is there any possibility
of Govt planning to widen the lakes by demolishing the sorrounding residential( Just like Road widening or Drain widening)?

2. Is there any department that would give me a kind of endorsement that survey number is not abucting the lake bed?
If yes what is the procedure, bribes etc etc

Thanks

1) BBMP is the right authority to give the legality of the layout/approved layouts information.

2) Neither BBMP/Govt just recovers the Encroached lake areas, blocked structures on the storma water drains and restores the actual lake area and try to make it environmental friendly area. They don't widen beyond the original area.

3) Alternately you can also get the details for lake development authority for double confirmation.

Don't say they don't reclaim land. even if they have not been doing it in the past . Recent articles in the papers show that several houses have been demolished for storm water drain encroachment. so amit_pearl do your research before purchasing.

besides, we should not encourage such activity , so even if there is a hint of any such encroachments, you should not buy it and recommend all your friends and family to stay away from it.

good luck.

I agree, everyday BBMP is demolishing and cleaning up all the houses that stand on encroached drain or lake bed.
Some of the house have been built 15 years ago. Be it apartment or individual house they just bring it down.

I am trying my best to do the research, ultimately it stops at BBMP gate. Unless you know somebody in the
office they dont open up thier mouth. I am ready to bribe them to get my information...

I ask a simple question. Is this survey number encroaching the lake bed?

Till date i have not able to get the answer for this :).

Thanks
Amit.

you always have the option of RTI. follow the RTI instructions and send them your questions. they are obligated to respond within a certain time frame (although that may be outside your time requirements - you have to check that out).

Great IDEA. The response they give i guess would be with Valid seal. This can be used as pakka document

RTI.I guess my lawyer should have been aware of this. Why did the lawyer not mention about this.HUH.
I assume this RTI is can be obtained from nearest BBMP office where the site is located.

Any personal experience on RTI or Do's and donts are most welcome
